Brazilian Joao Chumbinho Chianca secured his place in the WSL Finals after Yago Dora was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Tahiti Pro by his friend Jack Robinson.

Chumbinho would only be out of the race for his place in the finals if John John or Medina won the event and Yago Dora finished second. With the latter's defeat, there was no way for the Brazilian not to qualify.

Now it only remains to be determined whether the fifth-place finisher is Medina or Jack Robinson.

If the Maresias native wins the event, he will be fourth in the ranking and will go to the finals with priority in series 1. If Jack Robinson wins, Chumbinho will be fourth.

Finally, if Leo Fioravanti wins and Medina is not a finalist, the Italian will qualify for the decision in Lowers.
