Italo and Caitlin won in Abu Dhabi

And they shot to the top of the rankings; Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy finished ninth in the event and is tenth in the ranking.

Brazilian Italo Ferreira and American Caitlin Simmers won the second stage of the CT 2025 which concluded today in the artificial waves of the Abu Dhabi swimming pool.

This result catapulted them both high into the top of the rankings, with Italo first with 16.085, followed by Barron Mamiya with 11.330. Simmers has 17.800 and his runner-up, Molly Picklum, 13.885.

The men's final pitted Baia Formosa's Rio Waida against Indonesia's Rio Waida, who had no chance. Inspired, Italo clocked 8,67 on the right and 8,6 on the left, totalling 17,27.

As Waida scored 7,83 on the first left and 6,67 on the second right, he was more than 10 points behind Ferreira and therefore it was impossible to catch him on his last left.

Ferreira celebrated in advance and then with the Brazilian flag moving from switch to switch on the board.

Tied for third place were Australians Ethan Ewing and Jack Robinson.

Among the ladies, the result was closer, with Simmers beating Picklum by 16,1 (8,67 + 7,43) to 15,7 (8 + 7,7).

Tied for third place were young Vahine Fierro and Gabriela Bryan.

Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy did not have a good tournament and was placed ninth, which with Pipe's fifth place now places her in tenth place in the ranking, the last qualifying space for the mid-year cut.

The men's and women's top 10 after the tournament were as follows:
