John John and Lakey won in Margaret
The Hawaiian took distance at the top of the ranking while Gilmore held on but all his rivals came closer.
Hawaiian John John Florence repeated his victory in Margaret River and moved almost 6000 points clear of the leaderboard, which now has Kolohe Andino in second.
Andino finished second in the tournament and was bitter about another final that he failed to win and continues, after seven years on the tour, without being able to climb to the top of the podium.
The event concluded with powerful waves of around two to three metres breaking at Margaret River's Main Break.
For her part, Lakey Peterson, who had been the favourite among the ladies, confirmed what she had done against Steph Gilmore in the quarter-finals and beat Tatiana Weston of Brazil in a final that was not as close.
The ranking remains Gilmore's, and now all of her competitors are following her closely (between first and fifth there are no more than 2200 points).
The tour continues in Brazil now, from June 20 to 28 Saquarema will welcome the best in the world.
