John John Florence got off the Pipe Masters
The return will have to wait. The Hawaiian says he still doesn't feel 100%
This Wednesday afternoon, Hawaiian surfer John John Florence announced that he will not be competing in this year's Pipe Masters because he does not feel fully recovered, the surfer reported on his social networks.
"I feel good about being back in the water these days, I think I'm close to 100%, but I'm not there yet. I noticed this week that I still don't trust my movements, which has always been my test for returning to competitions," wrote the surfer.
He added: “The Pipe Masters is my favourite event on tour so it’s a tough decision but I’m pulling out of the tournament. I wish everyone luck. It’s been amazing to see them go all out in the last swell.”
The WSL has not yet announced who will replace the surfer in the tournament, which begins its waiting period on December 8.
