John John Florence prepares for the 2019 season in Kelly's pool

Their presence on the Gold Coast is becoming increasingly likely

Two-time world champion John John Florence is training with his entire team at Kelly Slater's pool, according to a video he and the WSL posted on social media.

“It was great to go to the Surf Ranch and get back to basics. Working on specific turns and stance with Ross Williams. Having instant feedback and repetition is so helpful. It’s crazy what you can do in a short period of time. Thanks to the Kelly Slater Wave Company for having me, I look forward to coming back!” the surfer wrote in the post.

The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, the first world circuit competition of the year, will begin its waiting period on April 3.

John John Florence suffered a knee injury doing an aerial in Bali in June last year. He was initially expected to return for the Pipe Masters but he didn't, then for the Volcom Pipe Pro and he also withdrew. It is not yet known for sure if he will be at Snappers but it is believed to be very likely based on the signs he has been giving (like how he appeared to be surfing with a knee brace up until a few weeks ago and now he doesn't).
