John John has an injured cruciate ligament in his knee, an injury that will keep him away from competitive surfing for approximately 60 to 120 days, but he is still not sitting still and is looking to distract himself by accepting new challenges.

Last weekend John John competed in the team paddleboard event with his lifelong friend Kona Johnson in the Molokai2Oahu race, the most challenging race on the planet. It is 32 miles long and runs between the neighboring islands of Molokai and Oahu, in the Hawaiian archipelago.

The duo placed second in the category, with a total time of 6:20:06.
