John John: “The surgery was a success”
"I want to start the recovery process," the Hawaiian said on his Instagram

Two-time world champion John John Florence underwent knee surgery, which he reported on social media was “a success.”
“I look forward to beginning the recovery process. I will try to share it along the way,” John John wrote.
Florence suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament while competing in the Brazilian stage. According to various medical sites, recovery from such an injury ranges from two to nine months.
The Hawaiian had spent half a year out of the water last season after suffering a high-grade tear of the same ligament. He chose to strengthen his knee rather than undergo surgery.
This time he did not escape from the operating room.
