John John went under the knife once again
“Everything went as well as possible and the procedure will give me the opportunity to be at full strength sooner than expected,” said the Hawaiian.
John John Florence has once again undergone surgery, this time for his left knee, which he injured while surfing at the Margaret River Pro, the surfer reported on his social networks.
“I woke up to the surgeon’s report that everything went as well as possible and the procedure will give me the opportunity to be back to full strength sooner than expected,” the Hawaiian said.
He added: “I feel motivated by knowing that the Olympics are achievable. I am excited about this and I am going to do everything I can to make it happen.”
The Hawaiian does not give details of what his operation consisted of.
In another message posted a few hours earlier, John John reflected on his situation: “I’ve been through a lot of emotions. At first it was hard to accept that I had hurt myself but I’m starting to realise that it’s part of life, there are times when we get knocked out, we all go through tough times. So here we go again to overcome the challenges.”
There is no information on his return, but it is known that he will not be at the next stage in Rottnest Island where he was replaced by Taj Burrow.
