Kelly Slater tested positive for Covid
His presence at the Bells stage could be complicated: He must test negative before leaving for Australia; the event begins its waiting period on April 10
The greatest surfer in history, Kelly Slater, has tested positive for Covid, a result of his participation in the Oscars, he said in an Instagram post in which he shared his test.
The fourth leg of the world tour will take place in Bells Beach from April 10-20 and this leaves Slater in a tight position to make the trip to Australia.
According to Stab, under US rules, Kelly must now quarantine until April 4, when, if she takes a test and comes back negative, she will be free to travel.
If he tests positive, the situation could change for the American and for the rest of the surfers in the event because all the series would change.
Australia requires a negative test to enter the country and even if you have no symptoms, the test can still be positive.
Kelly Slater is second in the rankings, after winning at Pipe and placing ninth in Portugal, it can be said that 17th at Sunset is his only dropout from making it into the top 5 that defines the world champion.
