Kemper and Devault made it into the Pipe Masters
The champion and runner-up of the trials will face Ferreira and Medina respectively
Hawaiians Billy Kemper and Imaikalani Devault placed first and second at the Pipe Invitational and are now in the Pipe Masters, where they will face top seeds and title contenders Italo Ferreira and Gabriel Medina.
In a day of tubes between four and six feet, the 16 heats that crowned the champion of an event that has an absolute Hawaiian majority were contested; only seven surfers out of 32 were non-Hawiians.
The result of the grand final was as follows:
