Luisma Iturria: “We can do without surfing”
The legendary Uruguayan surfer asked his colleagues not to go into the water: “Today there are waves, well, we have to pretend there aren’t any,” he said.
Legendary Uruguayan surfer and 2012 Latin American champion Luisma Iturria sent a lengthy message via IGTV asking surfers to hold back and not go into the water.
Aware of several videos and photos that circulated on networks showing surfers Enjoying a very good day of waves, Iturria said: “I have seen that there are many people who are not taking things seriously. There have been many surfers on the beaches today, Saturday April 4th. Several of them were very busy and the truth is that it is not the idea, it is not the idea that there are crowds, that people gather together.”
“We have a spectacular day of waves but we can do without surfing, We can go through days and we have to take it seriously and not be selfish; (why) if one can, the other can't (…) Today there are waves, well, we have to pretend there aren't any, the sea is still choppy, blown and small. We have to be strong and stay at home," he added.

We have to hold on a little longer,” he said.
