Empanadas for a dream

Uruguayan Matías Nóbrega sold 3500 empanadas to go to Australia to get tubes, this is what he did and this is how he tells it

Going to live in Australia is a good decision but it has a relatively high cost. From Uruguay, counting the ticket and a few pesos to get there and get around, you should be looking at three or four thousand dollars, to start talking.

La Paloma local Matías Nóbrega had this in mind: Go to Australia, surf perfect waves, earn a fair salary and have it be enough to live on.

The mechanism for obtaining money? Cooking and selling empanadas. How many? 3.500.

The boy from La Paloma cooked and sold empanadas until the last empanada that got him on that plane, took him to Australia and, finally, inside the tubes.

They say that those who work hard for a dream will eventually achieve it. Nóbrega lived up to the saying.

The former ISA junior top 10 player also chose his location well: Western Australia is, along with Chile, Peru and Indonesia, one of the places with the most consistent waves on the planet.

The video shows him barreling a lot, maneuvering well but not much, because the waves in his area give him one barrel after another.

A little gem.
