Max Torres world champion
After several attempts and often coming close, the Puerto Rican got the gold

Puerto Rican Max Torres has just been crowned SUP Surf world champion at the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship taking place in Sables d'Olonne, France.
Torres scored 11,70 in the grand final to beat Australians Wes Fry and Kai Bates (second and fourth respectively) and Frenchman Benoit Carpentier who did not go beyond the 10-point mark.
The Puerto Rican had been close to the grand final on more than one occasion: 11th in 2022 and seventh in 2019, and this year he finally got there with an active and radical performance that included maturity and a good choice of waves.

Interviewed after leaving the water, the Puerto Rican said that he always dreamed of winning that medal and that he finally got it. He didn't get it last year when the World Cup was held at his home, but this time he's taking it to the island of enchantment.
He insisted that although he has his technical degree in a few days, today they are going to party to celebrate.
