It snowed at the Korean QS in the wave pool
First QS in Korea, first in a Wavegarden pool in Asia and one of the few WSL events where this has happened
The first QS in Korea, first in Asia in a Wavegarden, third in the world in a Wavegarden became an event not only novel for that reason but also because it snowed in the middle of the event.
The weather conditions were cold from the start of the competition, with surfers wearing booties and gloves but the sun shone with the start of the event until... It started to snow in Siheung.
Ketut Agus from warm Indonesia put it this way: “Today was my first time surfing with boots and gloves and my first time seeing snow as well… I ran out quickly to see it, grateful for this,” he said, as reported by Stab.
“It was cold but incredibly fun,” said WSL Asia leader Sara Wakita.
