Peru in Castles in the Sky: Rob Machado, Villarán, Cristobal and friends
Northern Peru magically portrayed by Alejandro Berger, directed by Taylor Steele
The WSL this week highlighted the Peruvian section of Taylor Steele's film Castles in the Sky, which shows Rob Machado, Clay Marzo, Pete Mendia and Mike Todd joining Gabriel Villarán and Cristobal de Col to surf northern Peru.
The images show a retired Rob Machado, after a few months in which not much was known about him, having fun in a small but very tempting Cabo Blanco, Clay Marzo with his characteristic frontside, Villarán barreling and breaking from the backside and a young Cristóbal maneuvering radically.
The filmmaker of the trip was the Uruguayan Alejandro Berger, who went with Machado to the highlands and created some images worth seeing.
Another highlight is Machado surfing with a totora horse, not to be missed.
