Pipe pumped and Alonso, Joaquin and Alan took their share of bombs

A look back at the Valentine's Day swell that got the North Shore going

A perfect northwest swell hit Hawaii over the weekend making the queen of waves work perfectly throughout the day on Sunday.

Peruvians Alonso Correa and Joaquín del Castillo and Mexican Alan Cleland took home their fair share of waves.

Correa found this bomb late on Saturday afternoon; he went down to the second reef, held the line hoping to get deep and managed to get out with the whole bomb falling and a control in front:

Meanwhile, in one of the most difficult spots to surf backside, Off the Wall, on a day with a lot of crowds, Joaquín del Castillo found a big, deep and long tube.

The surfer posted it on his stories, taken from Surfline's rewind cam, and this photo, by Matt Walker. Click to watch it live:

Alan Cleland shared a bombshell of him heading to Backdoor, here's the screenshot:

The other person in the area was Chilean Christopher Herold, who shared stories about Pipe and is known to be brave in these conditions. It has not yet been reported if he got a good one.

Meanwhile, among the best waves of the day, a perfect but very heavy bomb by Flynn Novak stands out, below (the last one in the post):

John John got some good ones after surfing Big Haleiwa, Surfline reported:

Another standout who is growing swell by swell in Pipe, at the level of his brothers, is Ivan Florence:
