The Basque surfboard brand, Pukas, managed to get into the grand final of the prestigious Stab in the Dark surfboard tournament for the fourth consecutive year, finishing in third place, as seen in the final episode of the event, on Stabmag.com.

On this occasion, the test pilot and judge was the CT member surfer, Jack Robinson, who from day 1 chose, without knowing that it was a Pukas, the board made in the Basque Country by its main shaper, Axel Lorentz.

In the final episode released yesterday, Robinson faced off against the four finalist boards, …Lost, Channel Islands, Pukas, and Chilli, dismissing the Pukas but praising the board for days in waves between four and six feet.

The playing field chosen for this year was the North Shore of Oahu.

The competition was won for the second time by Californian brand Channel Island in a decision that cost Robinson between the Santa Barbara brand and San Clemente brand Mayhem.

Every year, the Australian and American publication Stab organizes a surfboard tournament in which shapers are given information about the surfer's dimensions and where they will surf and they use their boards without knowing who made them. After several sessions, the boards are eliminated and the finalists are chosen.

In the 2022 edition, 13 shapers participated in the competition.
