Ramón Navarro was invited back to Eddie's

"This December 9th is the opening ceremony and Chile and Latin America will be present," said the Chilean; Guatemalan Polly Ralda appears on the list of substitutes

Chilean Ramón Navarro has been invited back to the classic Eddie Aikau Memorial Big Wave Invitational.

After the event was no longer part of Quiksilver's orbit, it attempted to return and Navarro did not appear on the guest lists on at least two occasions.

The Chilean was pleased with his return and expressed on his Instagram: “It is difficult to explain in words what it means to be invited again to this event that for me was the dream of my sports career since I was a child. I always thought that one day I would be invited.”

“It is a great honour and I am very motivated to give it my all if we have the opportunity to run this event with so much tradition this year and celebrate the life of the great Eddie Aikau, his family and all the guests. The opening ceremony will take place on December 9 and Chile and Latin America will be present,” he added.

This is Navarro's ninth invitation in the history of the event. In the 2009 edition, Navarro managed to finish in the top 5 and won the award for the biggest wave of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Polly Ralda from Guatemala is back on the list as a substitute.
