Moroccan Ramzi Boukhiam is confirmed for at least the first two stages of the tour, replacing Brazilian Joao Chianca who is still recovering from the accident he suffered at Pipe on December 3, 2023, the WSL reported.

Boukhiam, who suffered an injury in Hawaii at the start of last year and missed the entire CT, was chosen as the first replacement for this year.

The Moroccan, who was an Olympic competitor in Tokyo 2020, is already in Hawaii as he showed on his social networks and has just surfed a good series of swells at home.

In the women's category, it was announced that Sophie McCulloch will be Steph Gilmore's replacement after it was announced that Steph Gilmore would be taking a sabbatical, Sally Fitzgibbons qualified through the CT and that made way for Luana Silva, who was chosen as the replacement of the year.
