Contradiction among North American media: Apparently, Reno Abellira is not dead, he is in prison

“Reno, 76, has been knocking on heaven’s door,” Derek Rielly of Beachgrit explained, adding that he has dodged several bullets.

Legendary Reno Abellira is alive and well in a prison, presumably on Oahu, an industry source told Beachgrit, contradicting yesterday's report that he was dead.

Meanwhile, The Inertia, which had reported on the issue, deleted the news without any explanation.

Derek Rielly, one of the editors of Beachgrit, wrote: “Reno, seventy-six, has been knocking on heaven’s door, you might say, ever since he took to living an unconventional outdoor life among the rough street world of Honolulu.”

He said that Abellira had been found unconscious in Ala Moana Bowls and had been declared missing two years earlier, and in fact was missing for a week.
