If Tya Zebrowski passes a series, she is guaranteed a spot in the CT.
And she becomes the youngest in history to qualify; Nadia is guaranteed only by winning in Saquarema.
Fourteen-year-old Frenchwoman Tya Zebrowski is one heat away from becoming the youngest surfer in history to qualify for the CT, the WSL announced in a social media post today.
Even if she loses by one, if a combination of results occurs, the young French girl would also qualify.
Zebrowski managed to accumulate 28630 points in four stages, out of 40.000 possible, achieving a victory, a second place, a third and a fifth place, and more than 5000 points ahead of second place Yolanda Hopkins.
Other surfers who can qualify at Saquarema, but only by winning or placing second, are Kauli Vaast, Luke Thompson, George Pittar, Mateus Herdy, Jacob Willcox, Oscar Berry, Eli Hanneman, Yolanda Hopkins, Sally Fitzgibbons, Francisca Veselko and Nadia Erostarbe.
