Ítalo's joke on social media about the rule that does not allow substitutes in WSL finals: “Anything is possible! If the guy is in the mood, he can be called up”
The current Olympic medalist and 2019 world champion, Italo Ferreira, joked about a possible presence of Kelly Slater (who is last in the ranking of those who made the mid-year cut): “Anything is possible! If the bald guy is in the mood, he can be called up” and added some laughing emojis.
Ferreira made the comment on the Instagram of AOS Midia, a Brazilian surfing news platform run by journalist Ader Oliveira.
The responses to Italo were filled with laughter; one of the netizens told him: “Don’t give any idea.”
The crazy, romantic possibility of Slater making it to the finals is ruled out by rule, as AOS reported today, but with this WSL, anything is possible.
Like the idea that a Kelly who hasn't won many series this year is going to go for his 12th title in a single day of competition at Lowers.
