Surprise! John John is back in the water and is hesitant about Tokyo 2020

Out of nowhere, the Hawaiian, supposedly injured, reappeared with desire for the Olympics

Two-time world champion John John Florence, reportedly injured and out of the world tour for this year, made a post on his Instagram this Friday that left  disoriented to the world of surfing.

Florence posted a video of him on a paddleboard, paddling and the caption: “Back on the water #Tokyo2020.”

In the stories he is seen sharing a day at the beach with his girlfriend, Australian Lauryn Cribb, walking and relatively healthy.

The comments, which in just a few hours reached 305 (and the views more than 70.000) were from some of the best surfers on the planet, one of whom celebrated by saying: “The Olympics wouldn’t be the Olympics without you.”

John John will have to return to the tour as soon as possible to be able to fight for his Japanese qualification.

It is already known that he will not be in Teahupoo and at this moment he is third in the ranking, behind Kolohe Andino and Filipe Toledo. To qualify for Tokyo he will have to place among the two best Americans in the CT.

He will fight Kolohe, Slater, Conner Coffin, among others.

The Hawaiian was injured while surfing on a wave during the Brazilian leg of the world tour, which took place a month ago in Saquarema.

Florence had already been suffering from knee problems before. After Brazil she had surgery and it was expected that it would take a long time for her to recover.
