The 48 days without surfing in Tahiti, one of the largest paradises on the planet for gliding on a wave, came to an end yesterday, reported several local and international media.

One of Teahupoo's main representatives, Frenchman Jeremy Flores, celebrated: “It's so good to see you again, thank you Mother Nature,” he wrote on social media.

“It was a breath of fresh air. It was really great. Just being back in the ocean. It's very rare for me to be out so much.”  “Time out of the water, being in Tahiti for 48 days and not surfing knowing that the waves are incredible was hard,” Flores said, according to Estado de San Pablo.

Flores enjoyed a session at Teahupoo, saying there is a nice breaking swell now.

Former ISA world champion Hira Terinatoofa said he was in no hurry to surf on the first day because there were so many people, and he was content with a swim. “The sea hasn’t changed, he’s there and I think he’s happy to be back with us!” he exclaimed.
