Felo Barú is low-profile but he's a tremendous surfer, and when the waves hit, he doesn't appear in the clips, but the comments always say, "Felo got a good one."

Last July 30th, the day of winter in Uruguay, was no exception.

These waves from the powerful goofy footer weren't surfed in the morning, but in the afternoon. It must have been magical that day when Montoya kept riding these waves in the afternoon.

“It was the big swell that came in at the end of July. I caught a really good one in the morning, but there was no filming… And my arms were melted. I went back down in the afternoon to check on him, and he was still rolling, a little smaller but perfect, and with very few people. One of the best afternoons I've had, I got out of several barrels, it was crazy (laughs),” Felo said.

He added: "I was excited to paddle with the current, but it was impossible to get out with the perfect waves. It's not something that happens every day in Uruguay. The galley had a blast."
