The reflections of the brave Yerko
And her photos to accompany them: “Here in Arica, Chile, perfect and solitary waves”… When the sea imposes too much order
Yerko Vázquez is one of the bravest water photographers on the planet. He has photographed El Gringo in all its colors, from every angle, and lived to tell the tale.
He has also done a good job on the neighboring wave of El Buey.
Today he shared an interesting reflection on the waves in his city, Arica: “In some places in the world it tends to get crowded with people to surf. Here in Arica, Chile, the waves are perfect and empty.”
Accompanying this photo of El Buey with Foca Conti and Victor Cortez.
The sea in Arica, especially at the two surf breaks mentioned, is so heavy, so large, and so dangerous that it imposes an exaggerated sense of order. So much so that the waves break so perfectly, and there are two in the water.
