The Waimea River static wave went overhead
They opened it after several days of rain and this is what happened
The traditional standing wave that is generated when the Waimea River is opened and allowed to flow into the ocean took on large dimensions yesterday.
Some say it was the largest wave ever seen surfed.
The video below shows kiter Mala'e Mcelheny taking on the "bomb."
