Surf movie night repeats

A humble tribute to four Latinos who reached the top of the world in film and surfing in each of their environments.

A couple of weeks ago, on the already glorious Malvín Screen, the first presentation of "The Uruguayan Brushstroke on the World's Top Surfing Scene" was made.

I admit I have a bit of a hard time facing an audience. I mean, on the one hand, I like being given the opportunity to express my opinion, but on the other, I only love doing it behind my computer, in my car.

But the way things are these days, we have to face the issue and tell the stories face to face, microphone in hand. Some paying attention, others not so much. Some talking while one talks about what the neighbor did, and others paying attention.

Anyway. I was going to post what happened on La Pantalla in DUKE and say goodbye, but they told me it had to be presented in Maldonado, where many of the surfers featured in this essay live.

So, without much discussion, Capi put together his entire setup for this presentation, which will take place this Saturday at La Barra and will honor Carlos Pardeiro, Eduardo Bolioli, Mami Demicheli, and Pupi Berger.

What can I say? They're four Latinos who, through their struggle, ended up in the A-levels of world surfing.

The narrative is beautiful and they created it, and as befits those of us who follow a rigorous journalistic approach, we let them tell the story. We are merely the medium...

Until Saturday.

And hopefully we'll have to do these in Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and more...

But I suspect that there will be intelligent beings who will honor their own, as God commands and as is appropriate.

See you:
