Tube of the month: Alonso Correa in the depths of El Hueco

"I got that one, which was a blessing. The perfect tube, I was in the foamball for a little while and came out very happy (…) Those waves make up for the day, it's incredible to be able to get into a tube like that," the surfer told DUKE.

The day before yesterday the stars aligned on the most tubular wave in Lobitos, El Hueco, and the Correa family had a family get-together there. Alonso and Sebastián in the water, and dad Augusto with the camera.

After catching a few good ones, Alonso found the one of the day, which he described this way: "It was a nice day, with few in the water, it wasn't that big or very constant, and every now and then those little gems came out that made the day worthwhile. I started with a few tubes, smaller ones, and we kept going, with the tide going out further behind the rock until I got that one, which was a blessing. The perfect tube, I was in the foamball for a little while and I came out very happy. I came out of the tube all motivated by the flow and I pulled that little maneuver."

And he concluded: "Those waves make up for the day, it's incredible to be able to go in a tube like that."

You have to take into account the camera perspective, facing the tube, to realize how deep the Peruvian was in that wave.

And if, after connecting the curve, I came out of the second tube... That would have been crazy.
