Costa Rican Tomás King has just made it to the quarterfinals of the QS 1500 that is being contested in the perfect waves of Cloud 9, Siargao, Philippines and that apparently ends tomorrow.

King finished second in his Round 3 heat, behind Oney Anwar, but ahead of Cooper Davies and Ignacio Gundensen.

He will now face Australian Thomas Cervi in ​​the quarter-finals, who had the fourth highest score of the round, which put them among the last eight.

The result is already the best for the Costa Rican so far this year, ensuring him at least 630 points that will bring him closer to the top 200, and he could go up further depending on how he finishes.

The Argentine Santiago Muñiz, the Venezuelan Francisco Bellorin and the Argentine Gundensen himself, who had been performing very well, said goodbye in this round of the event. Bellorin repeated his ninth place in Arugam Bay and with zero spaces in his ranking he will continue to advance in the QS.

The quarter-finals will take place on Wednesday local time, Tuesday night for all of Latin America.
