Tube of the month: Kuhane Pakomio in the depths of Rapa Nui
"One of the best tubes of my life!" said the surfer.
The tube of the month is presented by Capi Bar
An Instagram story of a cellphone video shows Rapa Nui local Kuhane Pakomio getting deep into a tube and coming out to celebrate.
It seems to be filmed in higher quality but the DUKE editorial team was not restrained due to the anxiety of publishing it.
“One of the best tubes of my life!” said the regular footer. He added: “It felt amazing to be inside the wave for a few seconds and in the water with four friends and enjoying those incredible waves at home is priceless.”
“I felt really good when I got out of that tube, because that wave is 50-50 and if you do it, it’s amazing. But if you don’t, well, the rocks are right there waiting (laughs),” he concluded.
