Tudela invited to the Pipe Masters trials

"An incredible opportunity," wrote the Peruvian about the news

All of Peruvian Miguel Tudela's outstanding performances at Pipeline earned him an invitation to the Pipe Invitational, a prestigious event prior to the Pipe Masters that defines the last entries to the main event, as the surfer himself reported yesterday on social media.

“Starting the week on the right foot, I just received the invitation to be part of the Billabong Pipe Masters trials, an incredible opportunity. So I will be doing this soon (for a video posted on Pipe),” wrote Tudela, who also thanked the Billabong brand subsidiary in the United States.

The WSL has not yet announced the list of guests for the trials, which are usually mostly Hawaiian and have little international presence.

Tudela has been surfing Pipe since he was a teenager, with courage and skill. An urban legend has it that the toughest bosses at Volcom, his former sponsor, where Tudela lived on the North Shore, had to call his family to get him to tone down his risk on one of the heaviest waves in the world. The young man was going all out.

He competed several times in the Volcom Pipe Pro, having very good performances but without achieving the results. Finally last year, 2019, he managed to get into the semifinals of the tournament, honoring his performances on the wave.
