US Open without Tyler Wright or Silvana Lima
One with the flu and the other with an injured ankle, they will miss the seventh of the women's CT
Reigning world champion Tyler Wright and Brazilian star Silvana Lima have announced they will not be competing in the seventh stage of the women's CT, the US Open of surfing.
The Australian woman had a bout of Influenza A flu during her time at JBay and still says she has not fully recovered, so she will choose to stay in Australia.
Meanwhile, Silvana, as seen in the JBay Open broadcast, sprained her ankle when she fell during a maneuver.
One of them will be replaced by Macy Callaghan, the first to be left out of the QS classification last year, and the other will be defined in a series between locals.
Meanwhile, Frenchwoman Pauline Ado was invited to use her WSL wildcard spot.
This is how the series stand so far:
