Jack Robinson could only make it to the WSL finals by winning, and he went to Teahupoo with that in mind and achieved just that: He won.
A master on the tubes, the Australian who had slowed down after his injury that kept him out of Margaret River, shone on the tubes at Teahupoo and beat a Medina who seemed unstoppable.
Meanwhile, Caroline Marks, who has been training at Teahupoo for her own reasons, showed that these trips make her one of the strongest surfers on the Tahitian tubular left.
