Punta Roca has given more than was asked of it during all this time, and it seems to me that the championship could already have the semifinals determined and even more.

The biggest and most spectacular morning started at 7:30 when it could perfectly have been at 6:05. Like the 2nd or 3rd.

Even on the day it stopped, there were double to triple overhead walls with clean walls that were incredible and set the stage for a great show.

Yesterday was a smooth, great day, and today, even though it stopped completely, there were waves all day with very good conditions. Waves that are still breaking.

Today has to be the most perfect off day at a CT event in recent years.

And it's true that Punta Roca has plenty of waves, but the reality is that it's not always like that.

As has been said ad nauseam, any local phenomenon, typical of the tropics, can ruin your party, even though everything in Surfline is painted green.

Don't forget that yesterday and today everything in Surfline was painted red. In other words, "bad," "poor," according to them. And look what ended up happening.

The waves were incredible yesterday! Again!

And the free surfing in the early morning hours is a spectacle!

The truth is, the event could have ended with waves that were more than just good, they were fantastic. Far better overall than in the entire history of the event.

But we're asking and asking Punta Roca, and let's hope Punta Roca delivers. It looks like it will. But whether it will be epic for a whole day, completely, I don't know.

Now there are four days of waiting period and one or two days of competition.

If I were Renato Hickel, who is the man who makes the decisions in the WSL, I would have already finalized the semifinals yesterday.

But with what I have left, tomorrow, which will have excellent conditions all day with waves ranging from fun to solid, I'm sending all the quarters into the water and leaving the semis for Saturday, which seems to be the best of all the days.

Now, I'm going to say something important. If I were Renato and I saw tomorrow that the sea was still calm, I would finish the championship.

The main point is clear and important: You don't go out for perfect waves.

And these days they've been ignoring that saying. Let's hope they're right tomorrow.
