They gave the yellow light for Eddie
Attention Merello, Alonso, Manny, Izzi and Natxo
The organizers of Eddie Aikau have given the green light for the prestigious invitational event to take place next Sunday, December 22, they reported on social media.
A powerful northwest-north swell is on its way to the Hawaiian Islands and, as event director Liam McNamara said, “It looks big, clean, heading well and arriving in the bay on time.”
The championship organisers will make the final call on Friday to see if the tournament will go green or return to normal.
The organization gave several instructions to take precautions due to the waves that reach the shore and take away everything in their path.
This year's guests include, among their substitutes, the Peruvian Alonso Correa, the Chilean Cristian Merello and the Basque Natxo González.
