La campeona mundial, Carissa Moore, no estará en el CT 2020

La tetracampeona del mundo, Carissa Moore, anunció ayer en su Instagram que no estará participando del circuito mundial de surf en 2020 porque quiere tomarse un descanso para regresar con las pilas recargadas en 2021.

No obstante, aclaró que estará compitiendo en el debut del surf en los juegos olímpicos en Tokio 2020.

“Este recreo es un parate para poder recomenzar fresca, volver al tour más feliz y emocionada que nunca en 2021”, escribió la hawiana que señaló que va a poner más tiempo en su ONG @moorealoha que busca empoderar a los jóvenes usando el surfing como herramienta, además va a trabajar en una película e irá a algunos surf trips para mejorar sus habilidades.

Como no estará ella, Carissa aprovechó para felicitar a Amuro Tsuzuki, la japonesa que ganó el 10.000 de Pantín había quedado a un lugar de meterse en la élite y esto la deja adentro

Carissa lleva 10 años compitiendo en el tour y ganó cuatro títulos, está a tres del récord que sostienen Layne Beachley y Stephanie Gilmore.

Hello everyone! I wanted to personally share with you that I have decided to take a break from competing on the championship tour in 2020. This is something that I have given a lot of thought. If I learned anything about myself the past few years, it’s that I am a 100%, all in person. I have dedicated the last ten years of my life to competing at the highest level and want to continue to do that well into my thirties. I realize how fortunate I am to do something I love everyday and as a career. This break is a press refresh so that I can come back to the tour happier and more excited than ever in 2021. With this time off, I want to expand my @moorealoha programs, work on a film project, go on some fun surf trips, improve my surfing and do things I haven’t had the chance to. I will still be competing in the 2020 Olympics. Want to thank all my sponsors and the @wsl for their positive response and the opportunity to do this. Excited to share this journey with all of you!
